News from Pastor Job Jimenez

12/29/2018

Greetings in the name of the Lord.

Click here for the pdf version of this report, which includes photos.

I am happy to share once again our work in the new mission area of the SLMAR. Thanks to the support of KIMA we were able to reach this locality, in Tijuana Baja California, and now in the company of 1000 generations working in the evangelistic area. We have been working for the past months in music classes, where 3 young people are currently part of the Sunday liturgical worship. Two on the guitar, one on the drums and I on the keyboard.

We continue to pray to God to provide necessary instruments for the worship of the Christ the Redeemer church as they are, keyboard, bass, drums, guitars, horns. Last month we had two great and blessed activities, one was the course of deaconesses by LCMS where we have two students who will be consecrated for this noble ministry in the future; and the other went reception of the Cristo Redentor church where we are formally part of the SLMAR as an associated church.

I was installed as pastor of that congregation, and since all work bears fruit, 2 young people were confirmed, and a young marriage, with a total of 4 new members. We are happy to have been able to visit the congregations of the San Luis and Mexicali area in the company of Pastor Isaac.

We visited the pastors and some members of the congregation, and we participated in the Sunday worship of the San Mateo church on Sunday, December 9. This in order to strengthen and participate in unity as the church of Christ. On Saturday, December 22, 1000 generations made his Posada, traditional Christmas party, for the community in the Christ the Redeemer Church, it was a pleasant time that opened doors to contact the neighbors.

By the grace of God, who has heard our prayers, the next day, Sunday, December 23, we had the congregational Posada, where new people come, 7 adults and around 20 children, making our church look happy.

We share food and cake, as my contribution 3 rich chickens with two cakes. And a cake for what? Because Tere and Sadoc, collaborators of the work, met on December 22, 25 years of marriage, what a blessing!

We are ready to close the year with a conviviality and ready to continue with new plans and projects for the expansion of the kingdom in Tijuana.

Also a good news to share, I re-start my seminary class. Now I am taking catechism class by Rev. Daniel Conrad, LCMS Missionary, and also our national church are making the process for next year I will start Seminary classes online by El reformador Lutheran seminary in Dominican Republic. Pray for it.

I ask your prayers for your servant, and for the growth of our congregation.

May the grace of the Savior flood their lives in this new year, and prosper their plans.

Yours in warm Jesus love,

Pastor Job Jimenez

The 501st Reformation Day is now past and we begin to look forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I want to thank Joyce Bretting for going out and purchasing all the items for our Operation KIMA Christmas Child - KIMA Mission Kids. Thrivent has come through and is sponsoring the program through our KIMA Action team. If we are blessed to receive more money than we are spending on this project the overage will be used for subsidizing the missions.

Please open the Newsletter by clicking here (pdf) and if possible share it with your friends at church or around the neighborhood.

Prayers have been requested by Job Jimenez for good health, his installation as pastor of Cristo Redentor, and the acceptance of Cristo Redentor into the Lutheran Synod of Mexico.

KIMA Projects where you can help

10/26/2018

Here is what the package will be like. Now if we got enough donations we might be able to put each gift in a separate plastic box that is about the size of a shoe box. You can see here the two Bible story books that will be included. We need your help either in your donations, about $8 per child, or by you people finding people or groups or Sunday School classes that would like to help with this method of sharing the story of God's plan of salvation.

We were made aware of a church in San Luis Rio Colorado who has had their electricity and water shut off because they were unable to pay their bills. The pastor works 60 hours a week at a secular job, has a wife who is dealing with cancer and therefore was unable to have a job, serves a new mission start on Saturdays, and then leads worship at San Mateo Lutheran Church on Sundays. He has just begun his studies in the FPH program which is like our Synod's SMP program. He is a very busy man and needs our support and encouragement. If anyone would like to help out send your donations to KIMA and earmark it for Saul and San Mateo.

The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

From heav'n above to earth I come,
to bear good news to ev'ry home;
glad tidings of great joy I bring
whereof I now will say and sing:

‘Tis the season to be jolly

Actually, it the time of the year when we bow our heads in thankfulness to God for bringing about His promised gift of salvation. Jesus born in a humble stable, lived here on earth experiencing all that we have to face, and finally at the cross and at His resurrection fulfills the promise made by God back in Genesis 3:15 as He talked to Satan, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

Satan spent all his time trying to circumvent God’s plan, causing trouble, striking and nipping, so to say, at Jesus, but in the end Jesus said “It is finished,” God’s plan has been accomplished, Satan had been crushed, and He proved it by rising victoriously.

Then right before He ascended into heaven He said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

That’s how we are to live our lives! That’s what we intend to do! May God continue to bless you as we work together to extend His Kingdom both here and in Mexico!
